Rachel's Friends Mission Statement
We are an Oregon advocacy organization dedicated to lowering the incidence of breast and other cancers by reducing our exposure to environmental carcinogens. We do this through education, legislative action, and organizing for change on behalf of Oregonians.
"For those for whom cancer is already a hidden or visible presence, efforts to find cures must of course continue. But for those not yet touched by the disease and certainly for the generations yet unborn, prevention is the imperative need." Rachel Carson.

What We Do:
- Publish a quarterly newsletter with the latest information about environmental issues that may impact breast cancer.
- Organize at least two educational meetings a year to discuss environmental links to cancer.
- Contact public officials and testify to policy making bodies about public health issues relating to environmental toxics.
In an attempt to preserve our environment, Rachel's Friends does not accept financial support from pharmaceutical, chemical or petroleum companies or companies that are known polluters.
